A pair of rumors hit the web last night surrounding the potential villains in WOLVERINE 3.
The first rumor is from Nerdist who says their sources told them Logan will be facing a group of criminal cyborgs called The Reavers. In the comics, there's several different versions of The Reavers but their goal is to destroy the X-Men. Several members also hate Wolverine, of course.
Quite honestly, The Reavers might be adapted and used as mere fodder for Wolverine since they are no match for his adamantium claws. That is unless their cyborg parts are made of the same fictional metal.
A second rumor has also popped up from SuperHeroHype. This one states that Wolverine will also go up against other mutants of the Weapon X program while he is protecting his clone Laura Kinney (a.k.a. X-23). Another part of this rumor claims that WOLVERINE 3 might be like a "road trip" type of movie.
Please note that none of this has been confirmed by 20th Century Fox, director James Mangold or actor Hugh Jackman.
So far, producer Simon Kinberg has confirmed WOLVERINE 3 will in fact be rated-R as well as having a Western tone to it. WOLVERINE 3 is currently filming in New Orleans and releases on March 3, 2017.
