As the movie industry world is buzzing about Disney's purchase of Lucasfilm and Star Wars, there is some buzz surrounding Sony's financial struggles too. While Sony is in financial chaos right now, generally speaking, they are still moving full steam ahead with The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Normally, we'd give you a spoiler alert warning but let's be honest in saying that it'll be tough to avoid this bombshell. Variety is reporting that Spider-Man's villain will be none other than Electro, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Also according to this Variety report, actor Jamie Foxx has already met with the studio, who is considering him for the role of the villain. Whether or not Foxx gets the role remains to be seen since Damien Lewis (Homeland) is rumored to be on Sony's want list for the villain role too.
In case you are not familiar with Electro, he has powers including: flight, electrical manipulation, superhuman strength, speed and agility. Electro receives his powers in a freak lightning accident that causes him to transform into a living electrical capacitor.
