SUPERGIRL Season 3 Episode 12 Review: For Good

Since Reign fled Fort Rozz, she has been docile. The team work on trying to find out where she is. They theorize that since she doesn't need a yellow sun to keep her powers, that she may be genetically modified.

After the distressing realization that she is losing time, Samantha enlists Alex help to do test in the L-Corp lab to see what's happening with her. The MRI doesn't bring up anything so Alex draws blood to send to an expert.

Lena and James, on their way to have breakfast, run into Morgan Edge. After ruffling Lena’s feathers he leaves but apparently she's not the only one he's pissed off. Someone tampered with his car and he's unable to break or unlock the door. He climbs out from the truck just as the car explodes. Evil is hard to kill, folks.

He immediately thinks Lena is the person behind it and accuses her at Catco. James and Kara investigate into whoever tried and the reason behind it. While brainstorming in who attempted to kill Edge, Lena’s coffee is spiked with poison. Kara rushes her to the DEO. Between Alex and Kara, they're able to identify the poison as Cyanide and save Lena. James runs down the fake coffee vendor but he is shot and killed before he can get anything from him. That is rather thorough and all signs point to Edge.

Back as a vigilante, Guardian attacks Edge and accuses him of being the one to poison Lena but he denies it. Kara gets Lena back to Catco before she wakes and she explains what happened with the coffee with James. Lena is rightfully pissed that Edge tried to kill her again and contemplates stopping him, like she should've the first time. James and Kara talk her down explaining they found a lead as the bullet left no fragments or casings behind and they'll follow the case of the disappearing bullet.

Lena takes the lead herself and finds a memo to Lex about a sister company Thundercorp manufacturing a dissolving bullet. She goes to Thundercorp and finds none other than Lillian Luthor. Lillian is equally pissed someone has been trying to kill her daughter but she also sees it as an opportunity. She eggs Lena on to help her take out Edge. Nothing like some homicide to bring together a mother and daughter. In the end, Lena seemingly agrees to let her go along with her plan to kill Edge. We'll see how long that lasts.

She arrives back at Catco where Alex and Samantha were waiting for her and Kara to tell them about what's been going on. They vow to be there for her and Ruby, and help get her better.

Lena confides in Kara about her trying to kill Edge after he poisoned the air. She even tells her that she saw Lillian and she wants to save Edge instead of being a killer.

Of course, Lena wants to do it her own way. She threatens Edge with letting a drone kill him unless he gives her a confession. He eventually relents and she takes his badge and destroys it, stopping the drone. Lillian, however, is not a satisfied with just a confession. Armed with the Lexosuit, she attempts to kill Edge but thanks to Supergirl, Mon-El, and some droid hacking by Winn, they bring her down. Armed with the tape recorder with his confession, the police take in Edge as well as Lillian.

Mon-El speaks with Kara about how he liked working with her again and that he's committed to being the hero she inspired him to be but they're interrupted by Winn. After cross referencing anomalies with the time Kryptonite rained down on earth, he narrows it down to 4 women but Kara immediately points out Julie, from her dream with the intent to find her.

With Samantha’s test results back coming negative for any tumors or blood disorders, it rules out an physical disturbances. It's only a matter of time before someone wises up on her dual personality.

Lena seemed to teeter on the edge of evil Luthor even more this episode. The thing holding her down are her friends but she seems to have accepted that she does have a Luthor mindset and wants to use that to change the world. Time will tell if this is going to be for better or for worse.

Kara’s growing concern for the Worldkillers was clear in this episode and they haven't lost sight of that. She seems to be having dreams of them as well. Another sign that there is a connection between her and Reign. There is one more Worldkiller to be found as well and there’s a chance she hasn’t been completely corrupted yet.
