SUPERGIRL Season 3 Episode 10 Review: Legion of Super-Heroes

Following the crazy fight between Reign and Supergirl, Kara is still unconscious two days later. However, she imagines herself in her loft, completely fine but it is really her subconscious. She is in one of the tanks that Mon-El brought from the future and is being helped by one of their compadres, an alien friend who is half computer and half life form called Brainiac-5 who can get into her subconsciousness. He informs her of her state and is able to relay to the others that she still has brain activity.

Meanwhile, Reign seems to have grown docile as Samantha happily plays with her daughter without any clue to her epic battle with Supergirl. As soon as she leaves, Reign takes over and she is requested to deliver the ‘awakening’. Reign intercepts a carjacking and throws the perpetrator throw the window of Catco and broadcasts a message that criminals and those who refuse to stop them will be killed.

Mon-El and Imra aren't able to give much information on what happens in the future or help without endangering their mysterious mission. Without Supergirl, the team is not left much of a choice but to prepare a weapon for Reign using the Kryptonite that Coville found. Speaking of Coville, Maggie tries to get him to spill the tea on some more information about Reign but he isn't helpful, claiming that Supergirl lost and Reign won. So much for being Supergirl's number one fanboy.

When they believe Kara is ready to come out from her coma, she is being kept in her loft, translating to her not waking up in the real word. She tries everything to walk out of her apartment and even Braniac-5 goes as far as saying she might be afraid. Kara refuses to accept it trying to blast the door open with her heat vision eyes to no avail. She is stuck.

Mon-El and Imra explain that they were on a mission to destroy a creature called Blight, which decimated a planet and would be coming for more. Brainiac-5 (Brainy). The secret to killing them was in their DNA. Sounds like a cop out to me but okay.

Lena and James have been dancing around each other since the kiss and Lena believes it is because he is not interested. James trips over his words and lets it slip Kara is sick. Of course, Winn has a grand idea of having Hank pretend to be Kara and is able to keep Lena Luthor at bay. Unfortunately, he is resorted to having girl talk about James and Lena making out. Not the most comfortable conversation.

Finally finishing his cover as Kara, Hank and Alex go to set a trap for Reign. Feigning covers as robbers in a bank they trap Reign but hitting her with Kryptonite weapons. They nearly got her but she is able to fight them off and break Alex’s leg before escaping.

Alex is brought back to the DEO to get a brace and decide they need to inject her with a concentrated dose of Kryptonite to really take her out. They run out of time waiting for Kara as Reign starts her next attack at the prison on Albatross Bay. Luckily, Imra has convinced Mon-El into helping them and they suit up.

They lure Reign out into the prison courtyard where Imra, Mon-El and Hank try to subdue and inject her with the Kryptonite.

Kara tries to figure out why she is stuck and what her subconscious wants her to see. After realizing that she needed to remember who she is, Kara is able to unlock the door and wake up. Kara gets to the flight just in time to use the Kryptonite syringe on Reign. Reign flies away, alive but weak.

Reign ends up at her fortress in pain. Her evil fortress hologram tells her there are more like her and she just needs to find them. Slimy Coville seems to have followed Reign and tells her he can help and they'll be stronger together.

So far not super impress with the so called Legion of Superhero. They have their gadgets and everything but they don't seem to be the greatest of fighters. Hank and Alex did better by themselves with their Kryptonite weapons. On the other hand, I loved the addition of Brainiac-5. He was the absolute best part of the League. He's witty and intelligent and so much more useful than the others.

The team has finally gotten the upper hand on Reign somewhat but she is more dangerous and willing to hurt people and now it looks like she'll be putting together her own super evil team. The superhero league better step it up.
