According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Zachary Levi has landed the title role in SHAZAM!.
The short version of the SHAZAM! story is as follows: a boy named Billy Baston has the power to transform into one of the most powerful heroes simply be saying the word, "SHAZAM!". It is an acronym of Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury.
The film will be directed by David S. Sandberg, for Warner Bros. owned New Line, with a screenplay from Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke.
Levi, who reportedly beat out Jon Cena for the role, will need to get jacked and ripped for the role immediately with filming slated to begin as early as February 2018.
SHAZAM! is scheduled to release in theaters on April 5, 2019.
