THOR: RAGNAROK Main Cast and Villains Confirmed With Hela, Grandmaster, Executioner, Valkyrie, Loki and of Course a Hulk

The wait is over as Marvel Studios has officially announced the main cast for THOR: RAGNAROK as well as which villains will appear.

  • Cate Blanchett is officially Hela, ruler of the dead in the realms of Hel and Niffleheim. This marks the studios' first female as the main villain.
  • Jeff Goldblum is now a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as he will be the villain the Grandmaster. In the comics, the Grandmaster is one of the older living beings in the universe and he possessed the Infinity Gem, the Mind Stone. Whether or not Goldblum's version will have one of the Infinity Stones that Thanos is after is still unknown.
  • Karl Urban will be Skurge. Also known as the Executioner in the comics, Skurge is often seen alongside of the Enchantress. She was not announced but now look for many rumors posts claiming she might make an appearance now that Skurge has been confirmed in THOR: RAGNAROK.
  • Tessa Thompson is Valkyrie. Rumored for this role for several weeks now, Valkyrie is the newest female hero to make it to the big screen in the MCU.

Also confirmed, but widely known already, is the return of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner and the Hulk. How Hulk makes his way to Asgard to hang out with, and most definitely smash, Thor remains to be seen but look for rumors claiming the always-popular 'Planet Hulk' comic book arc to be mention here and there for this movie. It's the rumor that never ever seems to go away and has come up for several movies over the past few years, but has yet to actually become reality.

“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige said. “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible."

Of course Thor actor Chris Hemsworth is back but his love interest Jane Foster, played by Natalie Portman, is not. Also, Idris Elba is returning as Heimdall.

Finally, Loki actor Tom Hiddleston will in fact return as the God of Mischief as well as Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin. And check out this new concept art revealing Hela.

THOR: RAGNAROK begins filming this summer in Australia and releases on November 3, 2017.
