If you follow Spider-Man actor Tom Holland on Instagram, then you've seen how acrobatic and talented he is at performing gymnastic stunts.
The Russos recounted to Entertainment Weekly a moment during their CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR auditioning process for Spider-Man. Holland came in and asked those in the audition room if they wanted to see him do a handspring as the script called for.
Everyone in the room said no because they didn't want Holland to hurt himself, since it was only an audition, but Joe wanted to see it. And Holland landed it!
“As important as it is to capture the essence of the character on an emotional level, there’s an incredible physicality to these characters,” Joe said. “So to see a kid who is a gymnast, and you know you’re going to be digitally mapping to his movements… to have somebody who can move that way, it’s f—ing invaluable.”
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING begins filming this summer and releases on July 7, 2017.
