Warner Bros. Confirms What You Already Knew ... Ben Affleck is Working on a BATMAN Movie

Right now in Las Vegas, CinemaCon is going on. This is kind of like a comic con for theater companies and studios bring their upcoming films to tease fans and media for upcoming releases.

During the Warner Bros. panel, CEO Kevin Tsujihara confirmed what fans have already known for a few weeks... actor Ben Affleck is working on developing a solo BATMAN movie right now.

“We’re excited to be working with Ben Affleck on a standalone Batman film.” Tsujihara confirmed, via Collider.

This comes after the rumor mill has had its way with Affleck being attached to a solo BATMAN movie for months and months. Then, last month, Affleck confirmed a solo movie has been in development and Affleck's own representation corroborated it and added how he has written a BATMAN movie script.

It remains to be seen if Affleck will also direct a BATMAN movie but odds are he will take the helm especially since he, and DC CCO Geoff Johns, have penned a script for it. UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Affleck will indeed direct the movie.

The Warner Bros. executive did not confirm a release date for the next BATMAN movie but it's easily assumed it will be one of the two new untitled DC Films dates the studio just set on October 5, 2018 and November 1, 2019
