Ben Affleck Confirms a BATMAN Solo Movie is in Development

Entertainment Weekly is all about BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE in their new issue. And while the news outlet has been posting some of their goodies online today, there is one piece of information about Ben Affleck's Batman that got buried within their lengthy BvS post.

Affleck has confirmed a solo BATMAN movie is in development right now even though there's no release date set for it.

A solo BATMAN movie has been rumored ever since Warner Bros. and DC Films announced their full slate of DC Extended Universe movies. Warner Bros. even made mention, at one point early on, that a solo Batman movie and possibly a MAN OF STEEL sequel could eventually have a place somewhere within the DCEU movie slate.

The question now remains of what is actually in development for a solo BATMAN movie. This answer could be within BATMAN V. SUPERMAN as you've already seen the Joker graffitied Robin suit on display in the Batcave.

“We’ll be exploring that [Robin suit],” executive producer and DC Entertainment CCO Geoff Johns said. “No one says specifically the name of which Robin that is.”

Johns has been rumored to be working on a solo BATMAN script with Affleck, who may also direct it too, and this all implies that a solo BATMAN movie could somewhat of a prequel movie in the DCEU. This could serve the DCEU well since it suggests Affleck's Batman, his sidekick Robin pre-death and Jared Leto's Joker could all do battle in a movie together. This may be a bit of speculation by The Daily SuperHero, but the dots seem to connect quite well.
