Director Peyton Reed Confirms Adam McKay is in the ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Writer's Room

Writer and director Adam McKay is been a Marvel Studios contributor. He helped co-re-write ANT-MAN with lead actor Paul Rudd and he has also confirmed in the past that he and Marvel have spoken about the possibility of taking the helm as director of a future movie. McKay confirmed his involvement in the development of ANT-MAN AND THE WASP this past February, although he did not disclose his role.

Director Peyton Reed has now confirmed, via ComicBook, McKay is once again in the writer's room with Rudd, Reed and screenwriters Andrew Barrer and Gab Ferrari.

"We've actually been holed up in the room writing the movie — myself, Paul Rudd, Adam McKay, Andrew Barrer and Gab Ferrari. So we're formulating the whole structure of the movie. And I can't really tell you too much yet, except there are going to be things in this movie that you’ve never seen in any movie before. It's going to be nuts!"

Reed also teased that the sequel will somewhat carryover heist tropes from ANT-MAN.

"There will be some... there will be a little taste of 'heist-y-ness,' but it's ... a little bit of different direction for Ant-Man."

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP releases on July 6, 2018.
