ANT-MAN: Conflicting Reports From Marvel Studios About That End of the Movie Reference?

Remember at the end of ANT-MAN when a bunch of super powers are rattled off one after another? If not it was, "We've got one that jumps, we've got one that swings, we've got one that crawls up the walls."

Now that you've been refreshed on that moment it seems like the "one that jumps" is probably Hulk, the "one that swings" is probably Thor and the "one that crawls up walls" is probably Spider-Man.

According to two separate, and potentially conflicting reports, the Spider-Man reference was implied to be put in after the Sony deal was completed but another report claims it was done generically before the Sony deal for Spider-Man was completed.

Per ComicBook, director Peyton Reed said, "Well, as everything the Marvel Universe, things are constantly changing and evolving. It was something that very late in the game happened. We had those conversations about, 'Are we going to deal with it in our movie? Should we deal with it in our movie and if so, how?' We liked the idea of just dropping a little, tiny reference toward the end of the movie. That excited me. Just to have that connection with a character I grew up loving - it was great."

This comment implies Reed and Marvel added the wall crawler reference in post-production and possibly during ANT-MAN reshoots earlier in 2015. But, per io9, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige said it was a generic reference added much earlier than the Sony deal and became coincidence once the Sony deal was made to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“When that [reference] was shot, that was before the whole [Spider-Man and Sony deal] thing had happened. It really was just her listing relatively generic powers leading into Falcon saying, ‘I’m looking for someone who shrinks.’ Now that the Spider-Man deal has been announced, it takes on a different connotation.”
