CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Plot Hinted at as Well As Ant-Man's Involvement Teased

This post contains spoilers for ANT-MAN.

Not that you've seen ANT-MAN and its end credits scenes, you have already seen the first glimpse at CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. Cap and Falcon have found and captured Winter Soldier and Falcon knows a guy who they can rely on. This was the implication that Ant-Man is needed by both Cap and Falcon to help them with something.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige spoke to Zap2It about that last credits scene.

“That is photography from [Civil War] that will play a part at a certain point in that film."

Feige went on to tease the Civil War plot just a bit.

“'Civil War’ is a relatively simple story. ‘[Age of] Ultron’ had a lot going on. ‘Civil War’ is a surprisingly grounded story about two characters that most audience members have come to know and like and admire finding themselves on different sides of a political argument, like the country does on many occasions, and how they both respond to that. That’s the story. So it’s actually a very, very simple story, and then how their personal relationships fit into that.
“Can he save his friend? Can he turn the Winter Soldier back into Bucky? Is that even possible? While the Winter Soldier, from most other people’s point of view, is the deadliest, worst assassin of the past 70 years. So some people are like, ‘Cap, you’ve got to let it go. He’s not the guy that you used to know.’ So it’s a surprisingly personal story with a simple and very efficient plot that I think allows all those characters to have a presence and interact in a way that’s different from other films we’ve made.”

Ant-Man's presence in Civil War was also teased as Feige stated how Scott Lang has somewhat acquired Hank Pym's hatred of super heroes and the Avengers and this will play a part in the next Cap movie. In other words, this sounds like a hint as to which side — Tony Stark or Steve Rogers — Ant-Man might choose.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR releases on May 6, 2016.
