Robert Downey Jr. is Still Talking in Circles About IRON MAN 4; Now Says No Plans or Script But He's Doing "Other Stuff With Marvel"

Early today, Robert Downey Jr. was on The Ellen Show and seemingly confirmed that Iron Man 4 was coming. But more importantly he said that he and Marvel Studios were now negotiating. Tonight while speaking with David Letterman, Downey said Iron Man 4 is not planned or written but Tony Stark does have a future with Marvel.

Can this get any more confusing? Well, as I've written before, Downey seems to be partaking in 'The Marvel Studios Way' (click here to read what this is).

Here's what Downey said followed by the video.

"There's no plans for an Iron Man 4. There's no script for Iron Man 4, but they do have a plan and I think [Marvel is] going to announce it... they've very secretive about it.
"[When asked if he's going to do Iron Man 4 Downey said] Just between us, no, but I'm going to do other stuff with Marvel. I'm still going to be involved with Marvel and there's gonna be plenty of fun stuff to happen."

Huh? Whaaa?!

At this point, let's wait for Marvel Studios to officially announce whether or not Iron Man 4 is coming. This all feels like some kind of planned set-up for a potential reveal this weekend during the 2014 New York Comic Con.

Maybe Downey is in negotiations with Marvel for some movie event besides Avengers 3, like what was rumored the other day... stay tuned... I think...
