Report: DEADPOOL to be PG-13, But This Has Been Known Since July 30 - UPDATED

A Deadpool movie is coming in 2016. And while most fans would love to see the Merc With a Mouth featured in an R-rated movie, this isn't going to happen and we've known this for weeks already.

Back in July right after the test footage leaked online, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld confirmed the script, which was under review by Fox executives, was indeed PG-13. Here's Liefeld's tweet from July 30:

Suddenly, there's another 'report' claiming Deadpool will be PG-13 and not R-rated by the website SchmoesKnow.com. Here's their quote:

"I heard from the director [Tim Miller] that they finally figured out the script, and it was right before this was announced, that they figured out, and you guys are all gonna hate this, they figured out how to make it PG-13. And therefore 'not lose its soul,' and that' a quote, of the script so that they can make it."

Now this isn't to say that that website didn't speak to Deadpool director Tim Miller recently, however, Liefeld had already confirmed the PG-13 script weeks earlier. A PG-13 Deadpool shouldn't be any surprise to anyone. If it is a surprise, remember that many fans also freaked out when it was said that Wolverine would be PG-13 and not R-rated in the first X-Men movie — Liefeld has also mentioned this via social media as well — and that worked out quite well, didn't it?

UPDATE: Writer Rhett Reese took to Twitter to clarify this a bit more.

Deadpool releases in theaters on February 12, 2016.
