Fox Officially Sets DEADPOOL Movie Release For 2016; The Internet Wins & Here's a GIF Party

After three years of sitting on some great test footage shot by director Tim Miller and his Blur Studio, 20th Century Fox kept a Deadpool movie in development purgatory endlessly waiting for a green light to go into production. Test footage leaked after Comic-Con 2014 and the Internet loved it so much fans begged Fox for a Deadpool movie.

The Internet has won and a Deadpool movie is finally happening!

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Fox has given a Deadpool movie the green light for production and set a release date on February 12, 2016. THR wrote:

"On Thursday, the studio announced that the [Deadpool] movie will hit theaters Feb. 12, 2016. Tim Miller is set to direct the film, with Ryan Reynolds long rumored to star, although no deal is set. (Bets are that he will.)"

Hold on for a moment while I have a gif party celebrating my many reactions to this shocking news because, a.) I will admit that I am a huuuuge Deadpool fan and reader and, b.) I figured a Deadpool movie would never happen.

Okay... I'm done. But seriously, this is amazing news and congrats to everyone involved in creating the Deadpool test footage and now working on the new movie. Plus, another shout out to each of those people because of their respective ability to exercise an extreme amount of patience while waiting three years for today's big news.
