Ben Affleck's BATMAN Days Are Officially Over

After being in two films and a cameo in another (in SUICIDE SQUAD), actor Ben Affleck has officially announced he is now longer wearing the cape and cowl for any future Batman appearances. This happened last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live! (via The Hollywood Reporter) as Affleck also said the following about his attempt to helm his own Batman movie:

"I tried to direct a version of [Batman], [I] worked with a really good screenwriter, but kinda just couldn't come up with a version. Couldn't crack it. I thought it was time for someone else to take a shot at it. And they've got some really good people."

Fans were divided on Affleck as Batman since he was announced in the role back in August 2013. Those who loved him in BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE were and still are highly passionate about the actor being the best version of the hero on the big screen. But at the same time, those who did not like him in the role probably have a big smile on their face today as they will get a new actor cast as Batman when director Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN begins filming later this year.
