It has been 14 years in the making and the sequel to 2004's THE INCREDIBLES is nearing its opening weekend and it is looking to be a big hit when it releases in the U.S. on June 15.
According to Variety, INCREDIBLES 2 is projecting for an approximate $140 million opening weekend, domestically.
This big of an opening weekend is right in line with today's biggest super hero genre releases and would be bigger than recent releases including: DEADPOOL 2 ($125M), THOR: RAGNAROK ($122M), SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING ($117M), and WONDER WOMAN ($113M).
When compared to Pixar's movie openings, if INCREDIBLES 2 opens at $140 million it will be the Pixar's biggest opening weekend ever surpassing the $135 million FINDING DORY opened with in 2016.
