SUPERMAN Actor Henry Cavill Confirms Talks Are Ongoing For MAN OF STEEL 2

Last fall, JUSTICE LEAGUE proved to be a huge disappointment both narratively and financially. However, Warner Bros. is still pushing ahead with their DC Extended Universe as AQUAMAN is releasing this December, SHAZAM! currently in production, WONDER WOMAN 2 readying itself for filming this summer, and a HARLEY QUINN spin-off movie is said to begin filming later this year.

Also, the studio has director Matt Reeves' BATMAN movie in development, GREEN LANTERN CORPS is still getting its story cracked, as well as a standalone FLASH movie is being written. But one notable hero missing in all of this is Superman. Last we heard was that director Matthew Vaughn was being targeted to helm MAN OF STEEL 2, but that was early last fall and things have been quiet since then.

While at CinemaCon, in Las Vegas, Henry Cavill was asked, by Fandango, what the status of MAN OF STEEL 2 is right now. His response definitely shows he knows something is happening behind-the-scenes. Although, at the same time, he says he just isn't sure how soon a sequel will happen.

“I can’t answer that definitively right now. But I’m hoping sooner rather than later. I’ve been talking to certain people and hopefully, we’re going to start talking to other people who are responsible for making those calls. And we shall see.”

Let's hope sooner than later because Cavill is a great Superman, while the writing for his character in movies he's already appeared in have been subpar, at best. Cavill deserves his time to shine in a well-written Superman movie sooner than later, too.
