Yes, Golden Globes Winner Ewan McGregor is Still Down to Play Obi-Wan Kenobi in a Star Wars Movie

It's been since 2005 since Star Wars fans last saw actor Ewan McGregor as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. So when Disney bought Lucasfilm, and announced standalone movies were coming, it seemed like McGregor was asked about reprising the role more times than you can count on your two hands. He's been asked so much he might be tired of hearing the same question over and over again.

Fortunately for Star Wars fans, he is not tired of hearing this question. After winning the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television, McGregor was again asked about returning to a galaxy far, far away (via THR).

"There’s a lot of talk, and I’d be happy to play him again, but I don’t know anything more than you do."

McGregor certainly wants it to happen, as does Star Wars fans everywhere. Add the fact a report back in August said director Stephen Daldry was being eyeing to helm a Kenobi standalone movie, as well as McGregor sporting what looks like the beginning of a Kenobi-like beard at the Golden Globes, last night. It all seems more and more plausible the actor could once again be the wise Jedi Master on the big screen in the very near future.
