Lucasfilm is Moving Forward With a Standalone OBI-WAN KENOBI Star Wars Movie

Right off the bat, let's state the first thing you're thinking after reading this headline... it it not known if actor Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as the Jedi Master. There is no script for this film at this moment in time, although, the actor has stated many times how he would love to return to the role.

The Hollywood Reporter is exclusively reporting Lucasfilm is moving forward with a standalone Star Wars movie based on Obi-Wan Kenobi. The studio is said to be in talks with director Stephen Daldry to helm the project and develop its script alongside the Lucasfilm Story Group.

An OBI-WAN KENOBI solo movie has been rumored for several years now and it will be Lucasfilm's third in their "A Star Wars Story" brand after last year's ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY and next summer's still-untitled HAN SOLO movie.

No other information was provided, but it would have to be assumed that an OBI-WAN KENOBI movie could be targeting a 2020 release timeframe.
