WTF is Going on With THE BATMAN Now? New Rumors Rise

The level of drama at Warner Bros., when it comes to their DC super hero movies, has gotten old fast as rumor after rumor continue to hit the web. There's a reason for the saying "where there's smoke, there's fire." And this has nothing to do with secret or planted Disney or Marvel operatives trying to sabotage DC movies because these rumors keep coming and coming.

Once BATMAN V. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE released last March, there's been nothing but drama talk. Reshoots, re-writes, losing director after director for future movies, 11th hour changes in the editing bay and the list goes on and on. We don't have time to recap all of it so let's move on to the latest rumor surrounding THE BATMAN.

According to Forbes, now that Ben Affleck is out as the movie's director it seems there might be a full re-write in the very near future for the Caped Crusader's next solo movie when a new director is hired.

"... the project will undergo substantial changes and possible/probably another full rewrite. Warner Bros. is already speaking to several filmmakers about taking over in the director's chair... and word is the project will essentially get a fresh start once a new creative team has been put together."

This rumor report goes on to state how Affleck will no longer be active in the writing process in this alleged full re-write. In other words, Affleck will simply star in the movie and probably have some story credit for writing the original script and he could retain a producer credit on the movie, but that remains to be seen as of right now.

While a lot of this rumor report is rambling on about possibilities and guesses, the fact that Affleck sounds burnt out right now is a big piece of the information being shared in the rumor. It even sounds like Affleck is on the edge of simply walking away entirely, which could be why he stepped away from being the director in the first place. One man can only wear so many hats and Affleck was wearing nearly all the creative hats during the development and eventual production for THE BATMAN

In the end, if any of this is really true then Warner Bros. can't seem to get it's shit together while its competitor Marvel Studios is such a well-oiled machine they are preparing to release three movies for the first time in a year as well as filming two movies at the same time right now for 2018.

Many moviegoers might think Warner Bros. needs to shut it all down and start their DC super hero universe from scratch. However, that's easier said than done with WONDER WOMAN and JUSTICE LEAGUE ready to hit theaters this summer and fall, respectively, and AQUAMAN readying itself for principle photography in the coming weeks. The studio needs to stay the course and try to stop the bleeding as best as they can. Luckily, there hasn't been too much drama talk (yet?) about WONDER WOMANJUSTICE LEAGUE or AQUAMAN. Hopefully this is the last of it because it's tiresome to keep writing about.

THE BATMAN does not have a release date and it seems doubtful fans will see it before 2019, if any of this is true.
