SUPERGIRL Season 2 Episode 10 Review: We Can Be Heroes

It looks like Mon-El was serious about his previous declaration of becoming a superhero. Kara puts him to work and after what seems to be about a minute of training, Supergirl thinks it's time for him to go out in the field. He isn’t the only one who seems to still be an amateur crime fighter.

After James gets grazed by a bullet in the field, Winn demands they tell Kara about the Guardian has his hands full with Mon-El. James isn't too happy by this new turn of events when he wants to tell Kara, but is adamant about Mon-El not being hero material.

Still in custody, totally forgotten again, Megan starts hallucinating other White Martians during the war and breaks the glass before passing out. Alex finds out that her brain is dying. After much deliberation, Hank bonds with her and forgives her, bringing her back to reality and frees her.

Tired of being locked up and psychoanalyzed, Livewire makes her return when her friends bust her out. Kara and Mon-El confront Livewire when she attacks the police department. Guardian comes up to help them but gets hurt and Kara finds out his true identity. Kara isn't pleased by James hiding his identity from her. Goes as far as to threaten to stop him before he gets himself killed. She also confronts Mon-El on him not protecting the police officers as she specifically asked him.

Livewire turns out to have been kidnapped at the prison and captured by an evil scientist trying to use her electricity to make other electric soldiers (the ones at the police station). Winn finds this and along with Guardian decide to go after them themselves. Mon-El follows them. Of course, Guardian and Mon-El get captured and Winn calls Supergirl for help. Supergirl arrives and saves them and keeps Livewire from killing the scientist. Livewire escapes with the promise that Supergirl will eventually catch her.

Turns out there was a psychic attack on Megan and when she shielded herself, she got trapped in her mind. Basically, White Martians are coming for not just her, but all of them. Wouldn't surprise me if they have something to do with Mon-El.

I feel like James is getting too big in the head as the Guardian. He thinks he's a hotshot even though he always is picking up after Supergirl or getting captured. However, Kara shouldn't have to tell someone that they aren't capable of being a superhero (especially after the array of heroes she's come across).

The one thing James got right was that Mon-El cares more about Kara than anyone else, which she is starting to realize will get in the way of saving people. However, after revealing that he remembered the kiss the whole time and requested that he still wanted to be her partner, it seems he is starting to learn that he does have to think about others. However, he needs a better disguise.

While Livewire is a good starter nemesis for Supergirl, she's nowhere near as scary as someone like Lex Luthor. Speaking of, what's going on with the Luthors and Cadmus lately? We are steering too off course. Hopefully, we’ll get a look into what they are doing with Jeremiah.
