Warner Bros. is Reportedly Moving Forward With MAN OF STEEL 2

When you have a new movie release open to over $267 million worldwide in its initial weekend, things should be really good. However, SUICIDE SQUAD is being seen as a mediocre addition to the DC Extended Universe after BATMAN V. SUPERMAN and MAN OF STEEL. While none of these films have been a financial bust, the potential to earn more box office cash for each has been hard to come by as poor pacing, spotty stories and gloomy tones have turned away many repeat viewings even by the most hardcore DC comic book fans.

But none of this is stopping the Warner Bros.  and their DC movie machine as they already have WONDER WOMAN in post-production, JUSTICE LEAGUE is currently filming with AQUAMAN, THE FLASH and Ben Affleck's solo BATMAN movie are all in some stage of development.

Now, according to TheWrap, add MAN OF STEEL 2 into the mix as their sources tell them the studio is officially moving the sequel into the development process so actor Henry Cavill can reprise his role as Clark Kent and Superman.

TheWrap writes:

"...[A] person close to the project told TheWrap that Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance."

No further information has been provided about MAN OF STEEL 2 and if it is indeed going into development, then look for more news, rumors and tidbits soon.

Let's just all hope Superman can smile a little more in his sequel.
