GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Director James Gunn is Such a Tease By Saying He'd Love to go to SDCC 2016

Last summer, Marvel Studios skipped on their Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con International. Marvel said they had nothing to show, but it's hard not to look at the real reason being that Disney's D23 Expo was about a month after SDCC 2015. The studio showed footage for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR as well as concept art for DOCTOR STRANGE at D23 2015, too.

As of the publishing of this post, there has been no confirmation that Marvel Studios will once again take over Hall H at SDCC 2016. That is unless you take a look at what GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 writer and director James Gunn said during a new Facebook Q&A session (h/t SDCCBlog).

“Am I going to San Diego Comic-Con? That’s a good question. Do you guys want me to go to San Diego Comic-Con? We’ll have to see. I would like to go, that would be amazing, wouldn’t it? I would like to come and see you all at San Diego Comic-Con and bring some friends along. That would be awful fun. That would be awful fun, I would really love to do that.”

This sounds like it's an intentionally long and drawn out tease that Gunn and the GotG2 cast will grace the stage at SDCC 2016. But fans will have to wait for a hopeful announcement in the coming weeks leading up to the pop culture event.

Fingers crossed!

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is currently filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta and releases on May 5, 2017.
