So you want to know. Okay, here we go...
... Fillion is playing Simon Williams. For the most hardcore Marvel fans, they know exactly who this is. If you're not up on your Marvel character database, Simon Williams is the villain-turned-Avengers-turned-actor Wonder Man.
Here's an embed of images taken by Jonathan Hunter, hat tip to ComicBook, in Atlanta showing a theater being prepped for screenings of Simon Williams' films for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2.
Wonder Man's abilities include: Ionic-energy empowered (which generates a purple glow in the comics), flight, virtual invulnerability, superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, enhanced vision and hearing.
The question now remains if Fillion will just be an actor named Simon Williams as an Easter Egg or if this is the introduction of Wonder Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe or if this is some kind of flashback and Wonder Man will never see the light of day in the MCU. Someone will have to ask writer/director James Gunn about this reveal during one of his future Facebook Q&A sessions.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is filming in Atlanta and releases on May 5, 2017.
