GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2: Sylvester Stallone Seen in Costume With Vague Description

***This post contains a potential spoiler for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. You've been warned.***

Last week news broke that actor Sylvester Stallone was seen in Atlanta for a possible role in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2. Now, the website On Location Vacations has a little more information from one of their location spies. OLV writes:

"Now, this week, we’ve confirmed with someone on the set that Sylvester Stallone has indeed been filming scenes for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. The tipster, who wishes to remain anonymous, also told us, 'His costume looks a lot like Judge Dredd.'"

So let's speculate. Right off the bat the first thing that comes to mind is that Stallone could be a member of the Nova Corps — possibly as a high ranking officer or maybe even a rogue Nova Corps member — since their helmet and uniform is slightly similar to Judge Dredd's costume look. And there's a chance that one of the many Nova Corps helmet designs that weren't used in the first movie could be adapted into another use in the sequel.

Check out this photo taken of all the Nova helmet designs from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Art of the Movie book.

The comparison to Judge Dredd is evident in some of these helmet designs, for sure. But it's still unknown who Stallone will be, if it'll be just a quick cameo or if he'll have a much larger role that Marvel Studios has been trying to keep a secret until word hit the web last week.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is currently filming at Pinewood Studios Atlanta and releases on May 5, 2017.

Please note: Marvel does not own any rights to Judge Dredd.
