Principle photography for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 begins at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta on Thursday February 11. This has now been confirmed by writer/director James Gunn on his Facebook page (h/t MCUE).

In the meantime, Gunn has been going through rehearsals with some of the main cast and he has posted some photos from the rehearsal space. Check them out below.

With filming set to begin next week, Gunn has already confirmed he has cast his main villain and Star-Lord's father. So look for an official main actor cast announcement from Marvel Studios next week as filming starts.

And just throwing this rumor out there... one of The Daily SuperHero's production insiders has hinted that the main villain and Star-Lord's father might actually be the same person but is was told as more of a "gut feeling" than confirmed information.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 releases on May 5, 2017.
