This is a bit of interesting news seeing as how it's already been confirmed actor Chiwetel Ejiofor will be the villain Baron Mordo in DOCTOR STRANGE. But now it seems like leading actor Benedict Cumberbatch will face more than one villain.
According to Variey, Hannibal actor Mads Mikkelsen is about to be offered an undisclosed villain role in DOCTOR STRANGE. No further information has been revealed about who Mikkelsen might be but the obvious choice seems to be Dormammu. If you're not familiar with this villain he is an immortal who is a master of mystic energy manipulation with a mastery of dark magic. He also has the ability of dimensional teleportation.
Again, nothing has been officially offered to Mikkelsen but Variety does say their sources tell them an offer is being sent out to the actor and his reps very soon. So stay tuned.
DOCTOR STRANGE is directed by Scott Derrickson and begins filming in London in November and releases the following year on November 4, 2016.
