ANT-MAN: Evangeline Lilly Talks About the Character Growth of Hope van Dyne

This post contains spoilers for ANT-MAN.

There's been lots of talk about Hope van Dyne since ANT-MAN released last weekend. And rightfully so because actor Evangeline Lilly is the newest female hero face in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

While speaking with the website Zap2It, Lilly discussed Hope and her future in the MCU.

“She was raised by two superheroes, so she knows probably better than everybody the pitfalls of that life, the pitfalls of that responsibility and how it can weigh on a human being and what it can do to their personal life. Hopefully that’s taught her a lot, and hopefully as she grows and matures and develops as a woman, that will give her greater and greater wisdom.”

Although, in ANT-MAN, you really don't see much wisdom from Hope.

“I think you see a lack of wisdom in this film. I think you see a lot of intelligence, you see a lot of pride, you see a lot of bravado. She’s very brave, she’s very capable but I don’t think you see a ton of wisdom and restraint, and I think that that will hopefully grow as the character grows.”

According to recent comments by studio head Kevin Feige, Lilly will definitely be fulfilling more of her Marvel Studios multi-picture contract.
