CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is jam packed with lots of heroes and villains but it will not have Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. The actor confirmed this with Collider.
"But I’m not in Captain America 3. I can’t figure that out, but I’m not. I guess I’m still out there, trying to figure out what happened to S.H.I.E.L.D. and who these other people are."
While Jackson's original 9-picture deal with Marvel Studios is close to ending, the actor says he wants more and is looking to extend his Marvel contract.
“Of course [I’m interested in returning]! I’m looking for a contract extension right now, yeah. I’m looking to re-up.”
So far Jackson has showed up in IRON MAN, IRON MAN 2, THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, THE AVENGERS, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. That makes seven of the nine films on his current Marvel deal so he has two more appearances left (per The Hollywood Reporter). Thankfully, he wants to return for many more.
