GAMBIT Confirmed to Film in New Orleans This Fall and Channing Tatum is Working With a Magician to Learn Card Throwing

Maybe it's just me but I'm always interested in hearing about the type work an actor puts into researching and training for an upcoming role. I love hearing about actors "working" at a doctor's office for a medical role, or going to a historian to learn more about a character he/she will play, etc.

Actor Channing Tatum has begun training for his role as GAMBIT which starts filming later this year and he has enlisted a magician to help him perform the needed moves with a deck of cards to be a convincing mutant hero.

"Last night we were with my friend who I went to college with, this guy David Kwong who is an incredible magician and he was teaching [Channing] how to throw cards and do slight of hand and all that," producer Reid Carolin said to ScreenRant.

Carolin also confirmed GAMBIT will film in New Orleans this fall.

"...[W]e’ll shoot that in the fall, we’ll probably start that in late October/November in New Orleans."

GAMBIT releases on October 7, 2016.
