Chris Pratt Can't Help But Smile When Asked if He Will be the Next INDIANA JONES

After this weekend's box office record breaking worldwide opening of JURASSIC WORLD — it broke the worldwide weekend record with an astounding $511 million global haul — it's more or less official actor Chris Pratt is the modern day version of Harrison Ford, who had a string of successful blockbuster franchise roles in the 80s. Pratt has cemented himself as the leading action star in Hollywood after starring in three hugely successful films.

THE LEGO MOVIE, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and JURASSIC WORLD seem to be the tip of the iceberg as Pratt continues to be asked questions about being the next INDIANA JONES. A report in February put his name into contention to succeed Ford in the adventure franchise that Disney acquired when they purchased Lucasfilm from George Lucas. The report pretty much said that since Steven Spielberg worked with Pratt in JURASSIC WORLD (Spielberg was a producer) that he wanted Hollywood's hottest male actor as the next Indy.

Of course Pratt is signed on for more JURASSIC WORLD films, as well as more THE LEGO MOVIE and GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY films, but some film pundits seem to think having him in the role of INDIANA JONES would be too many franchises for the actor. Regardless, Pratt was asked about being the next Indy by Jimmy Kimmel and the actor can't help but smile when asked about it.

Who wouldn't want their name associated with being the next Indy, right?!

Pratt definitely looks excited about the prospect of being Indy in this video. And it has to be assumed Spielberg has approached the actor to at least gauge his opinion on taking the role.

In the end this isn't the first or the last time Pratt will be asked about INDIANA JONES. Especially since Lucasfilm officially announced, in May, that another film will happen and is in very early development.
