WONDER WOMAN Director Michelle MacLaren Leaves Due to 'Creative Differences'

While Marvel Studios' movies have been dominating the headlines, WB's DC hero films are not. (At least not until the first trailer for BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits.) Heck, even 20th Century Fox's Marvel movies like DEADPOOL, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, and FANTASTIC FOUR are getting more headlines than DC super hero movies.

Warner Bros. is making a headline today but unfortunately for the wrong reason as the director for WONDER WOMAN has dropped out from the project. The studio made the following statement, via THR:

“Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together."

For her to work on this project for several months — MacLaren was hired last November — only to walk away implies that putting out a solid WONDER WOMAN movie is not going to be an easy task. Hopefully, Warner Bros. will find a suitable replacement.
