THE FANTASTIC FOUR: "Containment Suits" Instead of Hero Costumes? "Disabilities" Instead of Powers?

The Fantastic Four reboot has been heavily shrouded in secrecy by 20th Century Fox, producer and writer Simon Kinberg, director Josh Trank and its actors. Hardly any information has leaked about the reboot except for a few set photos of Doctor Doom (or a Doombot), stunt actors and an alleged practical prop of the Thing.

Fans have heard how the team won't be called the Fantastic Four in the movie or wear comic-inspired hero costumes, and many have mixed feeling about this. Johnny Storm / Human Torch actor Michael B. Jordan spoke to Good Morning America to shed some light on the topic of their powers and suits.

"It's a new look. We are all in containment suits... The costume process definitely took some time to get in and out of that thing, especially since I was bulking up. It was a little more snug during filming. We got through it man. It was a process, but we did it. It was hard work. I'm really excited about it, everyone is really happy. We worked hard for three months, put a lot of time into it. The script is very grounded and relatable to everybody, as much as you can. You really get a chance to grow with these characters. It's an origin story. You get to discover these abilities. These disabilities rather and grow with them."

Jordan mentioned their abilities but referred to them as "disabilities" instead of powers. Sounds similar to how humans view mutants as more of a disability instead of being evolution of the human race. This is not saying The Fantastic Four will be mutants but there are similar concepts in play when using the word "disabilities" and how the rest of humanity could view the Fantastic Four team and its members in the reboot. (That's just my theory but something to consider based on these new comments.)

The Fantastic Four releases in theaters on August 7, 2015.
