Report: Russo Brothers Ideal Candidates to Helm AVENGERS 3 & 4 and Take Over For Joss Whedon

So much news about Marvel Studios and the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now on the web. The biggest is the fact that Robert Downey Jr. is in final negotiations to star in Captain America 3, which is also being reported as the start of Civil War with the MCU pitting Tony Stark against Steve Rogers. Just like in the 2006 Civil War comic book event story arc.

Within all the reports and information hitting the web about this huge news, there is a bit of potential news dropped by BadassDigest.com about who is helping set up this giant Civil War story arc. Starting in Cap 3, the Russo Brothers are a big part of this new shift in the MCU's Phase 3 and they are allegedly the ideal candidates to take the helm and oversee the MCU from Joss Whedon after he finishes Avengers: Age of Ultron.

"How closely will Captain America 3 tie in with Avengers 3? I've been told that the Russo Brothers are in talks to direct Avengers 3 and possibly 4. Sources tell me that they're the favorites of Marvel right now and that they are the guys Kevin Feige want to pick up the mantle from Joss Whedon.

"This is huge news, and it shows that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to continue to grow and change, and that just when you think you know what they're doing - just when you assume it's Thanos in Avengers 3 - they throw a curveball at you."

Seems like Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet story arc are being pushed back a Phase and possibly to Phase 4. But do not doubt that it will probably lurk in the shadows and loom over what happens in the Phase 3 Civil War story arc.
