Jeremy Renner Takes Aim at a HAWKEYE Solo Movie Saying He's Down For it if the Story is Worthy

Only a few weeks ago, actor Jeremy Renner told MTV he was happy to be the ensemble part of Marvel Cinematic Universe films and wasn't pushing for a solo Hawkeye movie.

"I’m happy to be the ensemble. I’m not scratching or clawing to do a solo movie by any means. I think he’s a utility guy that can bounce around into other people’s universes a little bit, especially like Cap 3."

Something has changed Renner's mind. During his Reddit A.M.A. (Ask Me Anything) and via CinemaBlend.com, Renner is now down for a Hawkeye solo movie.

"Very excited about the outcome of [Hawkeye in Avengers: Age of Ultron], and where it can go in the future. But all I can do is want. And that’s all I can do. It all comes down to the content, and really how the puppeteers at Marvel can manifest a story that’s worthy of a solo movie. Not sure what that is, or how that is, but I’m confident they can do whatever they want, if they want to do it. And I’d be game."

If anyone doubts Hawkeye's ability to hold his own in a story, go to your local comic book shop, buy and read his current comic book run by Matt Fraction, which has won multiple comic book industry awards. Marvel Studios has a bunch of open release dates reserved for future MCU films and Renner is ready for action if one of those is for a Hawkeye movie.
