Jeremy Renner Doesn't Know if HAWKEYE is in CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 But He Does Know it's Filming in March 2015

Oh Jeremy Renner... you're such a joker nowadays. Last week he gave Marvel Studios fans a double-wink after loosely talking about the potential of Hawkeye showing up in Captain America 3. This week he's at it again. Seems like Marvel is teaching its actors to be 'expert trolls' in interviews and on social media. (I like to call it 'The Marvel Studios Way' now.)

But first, it needs to be addressed that Renner has confirmed (via The Daily Beast) he is signed on for Avengers 3 and a Hawkeye solo movie. However, he said he has no interest in being in a Hawkeye solo movie.

Now let's get right into some Cap 3 talk from the actor.

"I don’t know what’s going to happen [for Cap 3]," Renner said to the website The Daily Beast. "I know it’s going to start shooting in March. I haven’t had any official conversations about doing it or not."

The conspiracy theorist in me must assume that Hawkeye is really be in Captain America 3. Otherwise he wouldn't know that filming starts in March — at Pinewood in Atlanta, in case you didn't already know — so he can set his working schedule accordingly. (Or he's just being a troll. )

But why would he keep talking about Hawkeye if he wasn't going to be in Cap 3? It has to make you think he's in it, unless Marvel Studios wants to set up its fans to be disappointed with Hawkeye again. But that's not a good move for Marvel since many fans were already disappointed that Hawkeye was mostly a bad guy in The Avengers.

Before any possible appearance in Cap 3, Hawkeye will have an expanded role in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Renner also confirmed this to The Daily Beast, in the same interview.

"Hulk has a more prominent role [in Age of Ultron], and I have a more prominent role."

Finally, Renner did make a comment to the website StarPulse that his expanded role in Age of Ultron will actually finally develop the hero Hawkeye on the big screen.

"It was fun to finally kind of discover who Clint Barton is a little bit [in Age of Ultron]."

Avengers: Age of Ultron releases in theaters on May 1, 2015 and Captain America 3 releases on May 6, 2016.
