You Didn't See the ADAM WARLOCK Cocoon in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Here's Why

Only a few more countries have not had an official release of Guardians of the Galaxy and for those countries this is your SPOILER ALERT warning. To those who have seen Guardians of the Galaxy once, twice or 20 times... please read on.

In the final credits scene of Guardians of the Galaxy fans saw a beaten up Taneleer Tivan (a.k.a. The Collector) sipping some booze and it is also revealed that Howard the Duck was in his collection on Knowhere. While Howard is seen also sipping some booze, some have claimed that you can see the cocoon from the credits scene in Thor: The Dark World in the background and completely opened up. (I honestly haven't seen it after multiple viewings.)

Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director James Gunn has confirmed who is inside of the cocoon from the Thor: The Dark World credit scene, and it is Adam Warlock. But he also revealed a tidbit pretty much debunking the notion of the cocoon being on Knowhere.

"And that is probably not The Collector’s only museum," Gunn said via Empire Magazine. "I think he probably has other spaces in which he keeps his incredibly vast collection, so I don’t think it’s just his one collection, that’s just his Knowhere wing."

Gunn also mentioned how keeping two Infinity Stones so close together is a terrible idea. This all implies The Collector was smart enough to make sure the Guardians met him at his collection on Knowhere instead of his collection where the Aether (and the cocoon was seen) was dropped off by Lady Sif and Volstagg.

So when the Orb (a.k.a. Infinity Power Stone) exploded on Knowhere, the Aether and the cocoon were not affected by the blast because they are in a different collection at a different location. Hopefully, this gives confused fans some clarity.
