What Fans Can Learn About Marvel's DOCTOR STRANGE Based on Director Scott Derrickson's Tweets

Marvel's Doctor Strange is deep into development with director Scott Derrickson and writer Jon Spaihts. This is a fact since The Daily SuperHero was told this first-hand by a representative of Derrickson who said he's not talking to any press about anything comic book-related for the foreseeable future while he's working on its development.

What is known about Doctor Strange? It's being directed by a horror genre aficionado whose only comments about Doctor Strange revolve around his love for the Doctor's stories in the 60s comic book Strange Tales. Also, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has talked about how Doctor Strange will be a mind trip and an introduction into the supernatural side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There's also been several recent rumor reports claiming Doctor Strange will film in spring 2015 at Pinewood-Shepperton in the U.K. and the movie could be released on July 8, 2016. Each of these rumors have not been confirmed (or denied) by Marvel Studios.

So what can we assume about Marvel's Doctor Strange? Let's take a trip over to Derrickson's Twitter timeline for hints and potential teases about the good Doctor starting with Derrickson initial tweet announcing that his next project is Doctor Strange.

Finally, here's a screenshot of Derrickson's cover photo on his Twitter account.

So what does all of this mean? It appears, and this is my own speculation, that Doctor Strange will be a highly colorful movie. Many fans have assumed, since Marvel hired a horror director that meant, Doctor Strange was going to be dark and scary. It seems like, again this is speculation and just based on the above imagery, that Doctor Strange will be brighter than many fans initially thought. Plus, magic and science seem to be one — just as it was said in Thor.
