CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 Title Has Been Planned For About a Decade so Some Subtitles Wanted by Fans Are Too New

Marvel Studios is dragging out their teases for the official subtitle of Captain America 3. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo have done a heck of a job teasing it the past few weeks but the subtitle still has yet to be announced.

So what do the Russos do? They tease it again in a new interview with Crave Online.

"If you’ve been talking to Kevin [Feige, President of Marvel Studios] the title has been in place probably for ten years in his brain," Joe said. "It’s all part of the road map that he’s laid out, and it’s all part of the bigger plan."

If Feige has had this subtitle in his brain for approximately 10 years there are a few potential subtitles that fans have been clamoring for which should officially be marked off the list. Let's take a look at a few of the more popular subtitles possibilities and mark them off. Reason being is that their story titles were not released until within the last 10 years of Marvel comic book publishing.

The most popular used by fans is 'Captain America: The Fallen Son." Sorry, but this comic story was created in 2007 and came out after Feige came up with the Captain America 3 subtitle around 2004(ish).

The Daily SuperHero thought 'Captain America: Secret Avengers' could be a potential subtitle for the threequel but the Secret Avengers were not created until 2010. Well within the last 10 years. Mark that one off.

Another fan favorite is 'Captain America: Civil War' but this comic book story was published in 2006. Again, well within the last 10 years since Feige came up with the subtitle for Cap 3.

One comic book story title that is on the cusp of being nearly 10-years-old could be a potential subtitle. 'Captain America: Out of Time' was published in 2005 and could be a possibility.

In conclusion, the Russo could be saying 10 years simply to throw off fans so they'll be surprised when the subtitle is officially revealed. Until that time comes, it seems like the ones aboce are not likely if you use the Russos quote as a guide to what the subtitle might actually be.

Based on all of this, what do you think the subtitle is? Sounds off in the comments section below!

Captain America 3 releases in theaters on May 6, 2016 and begins filming in spring 2015 in Atlanta.
