CAPTAIN AMERICA 3: Could Something Along the Lines of 'CAPTAIN AMERICA: SECRET AVENGERS' be in the Works?

If you don't already recognize your beloved Marvel comic stories are being changed and adapted to fit the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) then you need to get on board already. So far Marvel Studios has adapted a lot in the MCU from Aldrich Killian to Ultron's creator to Netflix's The Defenders roster to name just a few. However, they have been true to the comics with some things too, like with the Winter Soldier's identity. For as much as Marvel Studios adapts things from the comics to film, they still maintain many other things from the comic book universe.

One thing Marvel and Captain America 3 directors Anthony and Joe Russo could be considering, here comes some speculation, for Steve Rogers' third solo movie is a possible Secret Avengers adaptation. In the comics, the Secret Avengers has consisted of Steve Rogers, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Black Widow and Sharon Carter (Agent 13) to name a few. All have been introduced into the MCU in previous films as well. Add the possibility of Hawkeye being in Cap 3, plus Falcon, and you have an interesting team-up movie for Cap 3. Click right here to head over to Marvel's official page about the Secret Avengers.

The Russo's might be thinking something along these lines, based on recent interviews. While talking with Movies.com, Anthony Russo said fans should look forward to what they're developing for Cap 3 because they're brains may explode. (A team in Cap 3 would make my brain explode, for sure.)

"We just got an incredible draft from the writers and are very excited about the film. I can't divulge who is going to be in the film, but I think the fans are going to freak out when they hear about it."

Take this comment by Anthony and then add a recent comment by his brother Joe, via Cinema Blend, on how he would love a crossover film like he read when he was younger with Marvel's Secret Wars comic book event and there could be the makings of a 'Captain America: Secret Avengers' concept for the third film. (That title is The Daily SuperHero's make-believe working title for Cap 3 in this post.)

“Listen, when I started collecting, the Secret Wars was one of the first books I ever bought, so that’s always been an obsession of mine to see something of that scale done – a crossover. I don’t know if that would ever be possible, with all the different situations at the studios. But I would love to see a lot of characters on screen together."

Of course there is a lot of reading between the lines but it could be a clue as to the route the Russo brothers are taking for the next film's plot. Giving Cap his own 'under-the-radar' Avengers team with Falcon, Agent 13, Hawkeye and let me throw a Black Panther intro and War Machine into the mix — he was a part of the Secret Avengers in the comics and needs more screen time too — would easily blow fans' minds.

Regardless of all of my speculation in this post, it seems to be a little more clear the Russos could be building a larger roster of heroes in Captain America 3 than what was seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier based on the facts in their quotes.

Captain America 3 is set to release in theaters on May 6, 2016.
