Things are beginning to ramp up for writer and director Matt Reeves' THE BATMAN sequel as The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed Scarlett Johansson is in finals talks for a role in the upcoming film.
THR reports:
"Sources say the actress is in final negotiations to join The Batman Part II, the long-gestating sequel to Matt Reeves’ 2021 hit. If the deal comes together, it’d be a jolt for the project which aims to go before cameras next year."THE BATMAN 2 is not a part of James Gunn's DCU as is a standalone franchise that will not be connected to the same universe that SUPERMAN, next year's SUPERGIRL, and 2027's MAN OF TOMORROW are a part of.
THE BATMAN 2 begins production in the first half of 2026 with a release date of October 1, 2027.
