STAR WARS EPISODE VII: Casting Rumors Ramp Up and Include Motion Capture Expert Andy Serkis - UPDATED!

May 4 is this Sunday and many websites have been fueling the rumor that Disney and Lucasfilm will make some kind of official announcement for Star Wars Episode VII. Being that it is a Sunday, it is rare to have such a huge announcement made on that particular day of the week. But maybe that's the plan while the news wires are the slowest.

Anyway, the rumor mill has been working overtime right now with numerous actor names being thrown around as potentially being a part of Star Wars Episode VII. The biggest and arguably most notable name rumored now is motion capture acting expert Andy Serkis.

UPDATE! STAR WARS EPISODE VII Cast Officially Confirmed!!

Per the website The List, in the U.K.:

"Director J.J. Abrams hosted a bonding session at upmarket London restaurant 34, where new cast members Adam Driver and Andy Serkis were joined by three familiar faces from the sci-fi franchise, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew ahead of a planned script read through later this week."

Serkis is known for portraying computer generated characters on the big screen and is one of the pioneers in bringing this method to the forefront of the movie industry with his portrayal of Gollum in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit franchises. So this could mean—if true since this has not been confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm—an all-CG character might be a main character in Star Wars Episode VII with Serkis in a motion capture suit on set.

Previously, Driver has been rumored to be either the film's main villain or a villain. And the list of rumored actors has also included: Lupita Nyong'o, Oscar Isaac, Ed Speleers, John Boyega, Jesse Plemons, Matthew James Thomas, Ray Fisher and several others recently.

Stay tuned because it has already been reported Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Peter Mayhew are all in London right now. So Star Wars Episode VII is set to begin principle photography so soon you can feel it in The Force.
