Marvel Reportedly Targets Russo Brothers to Come Back to Direct CAPTAIN AMERICA 3

Captain America: The Winter Soldier may be a few months from its April 4 release date but it seems like Marvel Studios is actively planning a threequel to the patriotic franchise. According to Variety, Marvel is in talks with Captain America: The Winter Soldier directors Anthony and Joe Russo to return to the franchise for Captain America 3.

Variety also reports this is due to the tremendous reaction to internal test screenings for the film so far—which corroborates The Daily SuperHero's exclusive from December—and the studio wants to make sure the directors are back. The trade website also cites their sources claim the film's smooth production as another reason to lock up the brothers for the next installment. The brothers also have reportedly been working with Marvel and have a story outline planned.

While Marvel Studios has yet to green light a third Cap film or comment on Variety's report, this doesn't mean studio executives haven't been moving forward to prepare for Marvel's next slate of films in Phase 3 of their cinematic universe in 2016 and beyond.
