GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: Female Lead Villain NEBULA is a Bad, Bad Girl

Marvel Studios is currently in post-production with what may be its most ambitious movie since it initially became its own studio and began work on releasing Iron Man, in 2008. Guardians of the Galaxy is Marvel's first attempt at going cosmic and adding space into its already developed (and growing) movie universe that already includes a fantasy realm with its Thor franchise.

Taking place mostly in space, Guardians of the Galaxy has been deemed as an "anti-hero hero" movie by female actor Zoë Saldaña, who is playing team member Gamora. Saldaña isn't the only female lead in this film as Karen Gillan is playing the leading female villain, who in the comic universe she is actually a space pirate, Nebula.

At the Los Angeles premiere for Thor: The Dark World, Gillan briefly spoke about her villain role (via IAmRogue).

"I play a character called Nebula, she is the female villain of the film. She teams up with Lee Pace [who plays the film's main villain Ronan the Accuser]... [Nebula is] very sadistic and evil but I like to think for a very valid reason..."

Sounds like Nebula is going to be a bad, bad girl! Gillan continued to talk about scenes with Saldaña's Gamora and if she has any scenes with Benicio del Toro's character Taneleer Tivan (a.k.a. the Collector).

"No scenes with Benicio but me and Zoë Saldaña have a very cool sequence together."

Guardians of the Galaxy releases in theaters on August 1, 2014.
