STAR WARS Rumor: Is Disney Considering a Joss Whedon-like Role With J.J. Abrams For Future Movies?

Star Wars Episode VII rumors are flooding the Internet with a rumor the development has gone underground, Emperor Palpatine will return as a 'Force Ghost' and now something about J.J. Abrams. According to the website, Star Wars 7 News, an unnamed source has mentioned an expanding role for Abrams.

The site wrote:

"I heard from sources close to Abrams that his involvement with Star Wars will be huge. For now he may only be directing Episode 7 but also he will supervise and consult all other side projects from the franchise - games, spin-off movies, TV series etc. And while Kathleen Kennedy will be the managing core of the franchise Abrams will be the creative core through which everything will pass."

Whether this is legit news or not is to be determined but The Daily SuperHero has reached out to one of its own sources who kinda sorta corroborated this rumor. It was said that Disney could be considering a Joss Whedon-like role for Abrams beyond Episode VII and he could either oversee as a producer, and/or write, and/or direct future Star Wars movies to ensure continuity.

It is no secret that Abrams is a huge Star Wars fan since he's gushed about being one in past interviews. So if Disney and Lucasfilm are looking for their own, younger version of George Lucas then Abrams could definitely be their guy. Stay tuned as Star Wars Episode VII rumors aren't going away until Disney officially releases any new information about the film.
