Disney / Lucasfilm

The name Michael Arndt is not a big household or mainstream name yet but the Oscar-winning Hollywood screenwriter is about to be.

According to a report by the website Vulture, Arndt has not only finished a 40-50 page treatment of Star Wars Episode VII but he has also outlined the next trilogy and may complete the script for Episode VII as well. Deadline corroborates this report.

"Arndt was brought on board by Lucasfilm months ago to put together ideas to take the franchise forward, a source with knowledge of the situation says."

This has not been confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm but it's sounding like the rumor of Damon Lindelof writing Episode VII is false. Hopefully the Arndt, the writer of Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3, has put together a story worthy of the Star Wars franchise. The pressure is on.
