Loki's path from The Avengers to Thor: The Dark World teased by Tom Hiddleston

You've seen him in Thor and The Avengers, now prepare to see a different Loki in Thor: The Dark World. At least that is what actor Tom Hiddleston is teasing in a recent interview with Digital Spy.

"Our springboard for the second 'Thor' film has been to ask the question, at the end of [The] 'Avengers' when Thor and Loki are kind of beamed up back to Asgard through some kind of link in the Bifrost chain, everybody up there in space is going to have an opinion on what happened over the course of 'Avengers,'" Hiddleston said. "So Thor and Loki were gone from Asgard for a time, and to all intents and purposes, all hell broke loose."

Hiddleston continued.

"They were both responsible, though Loki was primarily responsible. But Odin is going to have an opinion on that and Frigga is going to have an opinion on that and Sif and the Warriors Three ... and also Jane Foster wasn't there. She was sort of syphoned off to a kind of bogus assignment. That's really where it starts. ... It starts with all the characters have been slightly evolved from the end of that film."

He also said the cast is having a blast but Loki is still a loose cannon who is not the main villain and may not use tricks you've seen him use in the past but he could be bringing out a whole new bag of tricks. A deeper sort of play could be at hand, in the sequel, after the actor said that Loki uses his mind and intellect more than his powers.

"That's the fun in playing him," the actor said. "There's always more than one thing going on. He's always playing some kind of game with the people he's interacting with..."

Hiddleston said the sequel is not "the old recipe reheated in the microwave. We're cooking up something very new with the same ingredients."

Thor: The Dark World is out in theaters on November 8, 2013.
