Deadpool director confirms early tests and development in order to get it green lit

While 20th Century Fox creative consultant Mark Millar has been talking X-Men and Fantastic Four the past few weeks, Marvel's favorite mercenary has been without any recent updates ... until now. The Merc With a Mouth, Deadpool, has a video game coming out next year but watch out because it seems like he could have a movie sooner than later.

In early September, there was a tease by Fox on their Deadpool Facebook page. And now, according to Deadpool director Tim Miller, the movie has a script and is going down a similar path that Marvel Studios' Ant-Man movie has gone down to get green lit with development work.

"We've turned in an amazing script and done some early tests and visual development that--I'm confident--would get the fans stoked," Miller said over in the comments section of Kickstarter.com. "And Ryan still loves the project. So it's really up to Fox as to whether or not the film happens--all I can do is hope (and beg periodically) that it be allowed to move ahead."

With a script, actor Ryan Reynolds still signed on and ready to reprise the role and some visuals all in place, it sounds like Fox and Millar will have to take a long hard look at a Deadpool movie since the character continues to get more and more popular everyday, in the comic universe.
