Captain America: The Winter Soldier ensemble cast assembled, shooting date announced and plot teased - Spoilers

Captain America: The Winter Soldier has its cast and a start date for principle photography. Production will begin on March 1, 2013 mainly in Los Angeles and Cleveland, with some scenes also being shot in Washington D.C. (Cast and story SPOILERS coming up!)

Regarding the ensemble cast in the Cap sequel, it's an impressive one. Chris Evans is reprising his leading role at Steve Rogers/Captain America and Sebastian Stan is also returning as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier as well. Others making appearances in Cap 2 is Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury, Colbie Smulders as Maria Hill and Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow. As you can see this film will be very S.H.I.E.L.D. heavy.

Plus, the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents do not stop with ones fans already know from past films. Actor Anthony Mackie is being introduced as a new member as Captain America's new partner, Sam Wilson/Falcon. Mackie is not the only new face in the crowd as Frank Grillo is being brought on to play the villain Crossbones. Remember that Crossbones is the guy who shot Cap a few years back in the comic universe.

There will be one more new face, added to this cast, as soon as Marvel Studios decides which female actor will play Sharon Carter. They're getting close to making a final decision.

As far as the story of the movie goes, The Daily SuperHero has been told it will somewhat follow tiny bits and pieces from comic book writer Ed Brubaker's take on Cap, especially his story arc, The Winter Soldier. The short version of describing Brubaker's story is as simple as saying that it's an origin tale for the Winter Soldier.

However, Crossbones involvement in the new Cap movie remains to be seen, since he was just cast into the movie but one important note about the villain is to know how he has a strong affiliation with the Red Skull in the comic book universe. Hmm...
